Choosing the new Social Management Team
for 2012-2013
It is time for the members to choose the new social management team, so I urge you all to come along and help us plan the next year and some of the activities you would all like to see the club get involved with for you, the members and continue the 30 year old tradition of the ACQ.
Members, this is your club, if you feel you want to have a bit of true community with like minded people, then come along and join the rest of us who also enjoy your company.
To be able to make a nomination, you have to be a financial member and the nominee must also be a paid up member to be elected.
This brings us to the membership subsrciptions. It is $30.00 per family per year and $25.00 for a single person.
On Friday night the 27th April is the BIG night and we. outgoing management team are going to treat everyone coming along to a free meal, boerewors rolls and hot chips. Drinks will be on sale as per normal at the bar.
We are going to have great door prizes e.g. meat hamper, movie tickets, wine etc.
Entry to the lucky draw will be by business cards.
Farewell Letter
Hi there again and this time I am writing to you for the last time in an official capacity as the outgoing President of the Africa Club of Queensland.
It was a pleasure to be involved with the club and the management team.
I have met so many people wonderful people during my time with the club and wish to continue with those friendships for many years to come.
Thanks to everyone who have supported and assisted us during the past year and see you all at future social get togethers.
Regards
Leon Stevens
My Kitchen Rules, a cooking show on Ch 7 is currently casting for the next series and would love to feature some South African cooks.
Hi Leon,
I work for My Kitchen Rules, a cooking show on Ch 7. We are currently casting for the next series and would love to feature some South African cooks.
We would really appreciate it if you could help us spread the word to as many enthusiastic home cooks as possible. I have attached a flyer - if you could possibly pass it on to anybody you think is suitable that would be a great help. Please feel free to put it on any mailing list, newsletter or website you have access to. It would be fantastic to spread the word as far and wide as possible.
We are searching for passionate home cooks, who in teams of two will show off their culinary skills to impress world renowned chefs. If they have a love of food, a partner in crime, and an appetite for adventure we would love for them to get in touch NOW!
Also for your reference the link for the website is: mykitchenrules.com.au
If you, or anyone else, have any further questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch at any time. If you have any contacts for any other clubs around Australia I’d be most grateful if you could please let me know.
Thanks,
Bianca

Right Royal 'African' Affair
Good morning Leon
RBWH Foundation is hosting a charity gala dinner with a distinctive African theme on Saturday June 2nd at the Brisbane Convention Centre, Plaza Ballroom.
The Right Royal 'African' Affair will take guests through an African safari where they will be treated to a unique experience complete with exotic food, drummers, dancers and all the sights and sounds of the world’s richest and most diverse continent.
This is a wonderful opportunity to re-live your favourite aspects of African culture while supporting Queensland’s largest hospital.
I have attached an invitation for you in case you or anyone from The Africa Club of Queensland Inc, would like to attend - as I understand that your organisation is a social vehicle for folk with links to Africa.
As such, I took the liberty of enclosing a copy of a booking form should you wish to purchase tickets or organise for a table of 10, and some details on promotional benefits you could receive if you wanted to sponsor a table on behalf of The Africa Club of Queensland Inc.
There are many other ways people can get involved, such as donating a gift or service to help us raise funds on the night – if you know anyone that would be interested I would welcome them to contact me for more information, as we will ensure that suitable exposure is provided at the event in return for their generosity.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Many thanks for your time and consideration. We hope to see you there!
Kind regards
Rachell
